Now that the season is beginning to change and the weather is cooling down, it’s time to bring out the fall staples and pumpkin spiced lattes (shoutout to my fellow basic white girls). Although fashion is constantly changing, I always have a few basic fall staples that remain timeless, regardless of the changing trends.
My number one must-have for the fall season is booties. Booties can tie together any outfit and they can help to keep your feet warm during cool mornings or late afternoons. I personally go for the more simple look when it comes to boots, just because I’m always changing my jewelry and I may wear gold one day and silver the next. However, I do like cool patterns depending on the trends at the moment. If you shop around it is very easy to find cheap styles without having to justify the quality. I buy a lot of my booties from stores like Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters because the quality is very good for the price of the item. I tend to wear a lot of neutrals and browns, so I usually stick with the taupes but I always make sure to have at least one pair of black.
What would fall be without a comfy cardigan or sweater? Worn with jeans or a cute dress, cardigans will help to keep you warm and cozy whether you’re headed to class or huddled around a campfire.
Of course, you always need a fall/winter jacket. I use the term “jacket” loosely because a “jacket” can cover a wide variety of options ranging from light-weight parkas to heavy-down coats. If you are in the market for a new fall jacket but are unsure of what to get, I suggest browsing around for styles you like to find exactly fits best for your needs. If it gets very cold where you live, I would suggest a jacket that’s more on the thicker side, and vis-versa. Just remember, would you rather be too hot or too cold?
Let me know what your fall/winter must-haves are! Until next time ❤
